St. Louis Rams Continue To Suffer
Hobbies November 9th, 2009The St. Louis Rams are looking at another dreadful season in 09′. They are one of the worst teams in the NFL - just a few short years ago the Rams were one of the most exciting teams in the history of the league.
I suppose one could point to their 9-7 loss at Washington as a sign that things are on the verge of improving, one fact remains. No telling how Washington is though and they may even be a weak team this year.
The 09′ season for the Rams won’t be much better, if they get 4 wins that would be considered a successful season.
While nearly winning, the fact that the team only scored 7 points doesn’t bode well for the Rams’ offense. Unfortunately for Steven Jackson, he gets no help.
Marc Bulger has a few good seasons with the Rams - in 06′ Bulger threw for over 4,000 yards and 24 touchdown passes with only 8 interceptions. The last two seasons for Bulger have been less then stellar with more interceptions then touchdown passes.
Perhaps it’s time for the Rams to assess the value of Marc Bulger, as he simply doesn’t seem to be the quarterback he once was. Steven Jackson is a great running back when healthy, but the lack of a passing game in St. Louis makes it extremely difficult for the team to put some points on the board.
It’s safe to say the Rams will get a high draft pick in the 10′ draft. One could only wonder where the Rams should begin in rebuilding. Perhaps a young quarterback to build the franchise around. Steven Jackson isn’t getting any younger and it’s a shame his career is being wasted on a very bad team.
If I was Steven Jackson, I would do whatever it takes to get out of St. Louis. It’s going to be a long time before this team has potential.
